Best Black Friday Printer Deals 2018 – Which to Look for, and Which to Stay Away From
This guide is going to be quick and to the point. No photos, no links, just information. I hope it helps you plan your Black Friday. Have a safe and fruitful holiday everyone!
Canon MG3620 – $29.99 at Target
For a very infrequent user, or a small dorm room printer, the Canon MG3620 is fine. It’s not the best black Friday printer deal, but it’s fine for thirty bucks.
Canon TS3122 – $19.00 at Walmart
This is one of those printers I would stay away from. Every year, manufacturers push out garbage on Black Friday to keep prices low, and this is one of them. Trust me, you’ll pay your savings back in ink in less than a year if this printer lasts that long.
Canon MX490 – $34.00 at Walmart
Again, this Canon is fine. Not great, but fine for the price. Out of the Walmart options, it’s in the middle.
HP OfficeJet 6954 – $49.00 at Walmart
If you are going to grab a printer at Walmart after you’re done fist-fighting over a TV, this is the one to get. $50 is a good deal for this mini-OfficeJet from HP. If you are getting a gift for yourself, this is a winner.
HP ENVY 4520 – 29.99 at Best Buy
If your mother-in-law wants an easy way to print photos of the grand-kids, this is the printer you should buy her. Get some Instant Ink, and tell her to go nuts. This is the best printer for thirty dollars you’ll find this year.
HP Deskjet 2624 – 19.99 at Best Buy
These tiny Deskjet printers need to die already. They come out every year on November 1st, priced at $49.99, and then they drop on Black Friday. Companies advertise them front pages as the best Black Friday printer deals of the year, and it’s a total sham. Almost every one of these I’ve sold comes back the week after Christmas.
HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 – 149.99 at Office Depot
If you want to get a printer as a gift for your favorite college student or elderly family member, Walmart and Best Buy are great. If you want to get a good deal on a high-quality printer for yourself, Office Depot or Staples are where to go.
First, we have the OfficeJet Pro 8720. This is a boss printer. It’s my primary printer I use at home. And, even with my employee discount, I paid a lot more than 150 dollar for it.
HP OfficeJet Pro 6968 – 89.99 at Office Depot
Any printer that doesn’t work isn’t a printer worth buying. And, the OfficeJet Pro 6968 and 6978 are some of my most returned printers. They have severe mechanical and software issues. Avoid at all costs.
HP Laserjet Pro M281fdw – 279.99 at Office Depot
This is a boss laser printer. Out of all the best black Friday printer deals, this is one of my favorites.

HP ENVY Photo Inkjet 7155 – 69.99 at Office Depot
This is a great photo printer. The only thing that’s missing is an auto document feeder. If that isn’t a problem for you, I doubt you’ll have to fight anyone for one of these with HP Instant Ink. Seventy dollars is a sweet bargain.
Brother HL-L2320D – 49.99 at Staples
If you’re looking for a cheap monochrome laser printer, keep it stupid simple. This is the printer I bought my dad for his business, and he loves it. Fast documents, without all of the “riffraff”.
Epson Expression Home XP-340 – 39.99 at Staples
Do you want to spend a ton of money on ink for printing photos? Then buy this printer. Otherwise, stay away, get the HP From Office Depot.
Brother MFC-L2710DW – 149.99 at Staples
If you need a monochrome laser printer with some added features, like an auto document feeder and wireless printing, then get this! $150 is a great price for what you get. This printer will save you money upfront and in the long run. Literally a win-win.
Epson WorkForce EcoTank ET-4750 – 349.99 at Staples
This is the best Black Friday printer deal of 2018. I love this EcoTank printer. It delivers on what’s advertised and saves you a ton of money. I’ve sold a bunch of these printers for five-hundred bucks. Get this one while it’s cheap.
