When it comes to rating the Epson EcoTank ET-2800, I’ve considered all of the key factors that make a printer worth buying.
From ink cost to print quality, and everything in between, I’ve analyzed the data to give you a comprehensive overall rating.
I’ve gotta say, this printer delivers! With an overall rating of 4.3, the EcoTank ET-2800 is definitely a top contender in the ink tank printer market.
Key Features
- High-capacity ink tanks
- Up to two years of ink included

- Voice-activated printing
- Great print and scan quality
Pros
- Cost-effective: With the high-capacity ink tanks and the included two years of ink, the EcoTank ET-2800 is a great choice for cost-conscious consumers. You’ll pay more upfront, but save money in the long run.
- Convenient: With wireless connectivity and voice-activated printing, you can print from anywhere, at any time, without having to leave your seat.
- All-in-one: The built-in scanner and copier make this printer a great choice for those who want to simplify their workspace.
Cons

Epson EcoTank ET-2800 All-In-One Ink Tank Printer
Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Review
Ink Cost: 5/5
Ink cost is where the EcoTank ET-2800 really shines.
With high-capacity ink tanks and up to two years of ink included, you can save up to 90% on replacement ink compared to traditional cartridge printers. That’s a whole lot of money saved!
That doesn’t even account for the waste factor. Traditional cartridges start to dry out after just a few days without use. If you don’t print for a week, you may need to replace your cartridges, driving your ink costs even higher.
With ink tank printers, that’s a non-issue. Just run a print head cleaning if your printer sits for a few days, and you should be good to go!
Print Quality: 5/5
It’s no surprise the print quality is great; it’s an Epson, after all.
Even though it’s an all-in-one, the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 can still print impressive photos and graphics. It has a max print resolution of 5760 dpi, which is higher than most photo printers on the market.
Whether you’re printing a report for work or a family photo album, the EcoTank ET-2800 has got you covered.
Print Speed: 3/5
While the print speed of the EcoTank ET-2800 is a little on the slow side, it’s not a deal-breaker.
The Epson EcoTank ET-2800 can print up to 10 pages per minute of black, and just 5 ppm of color. And it’s up to 10 times longer when you’re printing photos.
Even for a home office printer, that’s frustratingly slow, though sadly nowhere near the slowest ink tank printer I’ve seen. It’s in the middle of the road for print speed.
Connectivity: 5/5
The Epson EcoTank ET-2800 has the reliable WIFI connectivity options we’ve come to expect from modern all-in-one printers, with 2.4 and 5.0GHz options available.
However, the EcoTank ET-2800 is also voice-compatible, so you can print hands-free! Just follow the instructions to connect the printer to your Amazon Alexa, and you can tell the printer what to print and when to print it.
I don’t think many people use this option, but it’s nice to have, especially as an accessibility option. I’ll always award bonus points to more inclusive product designs.
Durability: 3/5
While the EcoTank ET-2800 is a great printer, it may not be the most long-lasting option on the market.
Unfortunately, ink tank printers are built cheaply, even by printer standards (which are incredibly low).
This printer is still a great choice for those who are looking for a cost-effective and reliable option for occasional or casual use, but it probably won’t last longer than a few years.
Paper Compatibility: 4/5
The EcoTank ET-2800 should have no problem printing on most inkjet papers, barring heavy cardstock.
As a rear feed printer, it should be fine with lightweight inkjet cardstock, but anything over 65lbs will probably give you issues.
Since it’s an Epson, I’d be blown away if you found inkjet photo paper that it didn’t work great on. Of course, Epson always recommends their own photo paper, so you can get the absolute best results.
User Experience: 4/5
The user experience of the EcoTank ET-2800 is solid.
From its user-friendly interface to its convenient features, this printer is designed to make your life easier.
The only major drawbacks for me were the display and the lack of an auto-document-feeder.
Obviously, not having an ADF will slow down your copy jobs with this already slow printer.
And, the tiny display with physical buttons instead of a touchscreen feels out of touch with modern technology.
Consumers are getting used to seeing an option on the screen and poking it, so printer manufacturers need to get with the times and make touchscreens a standard offering.
Brand Reputation and Customer Support: 5/5
When it comes to brand reputation and customer support, Epson is a top-notch company. Again, this is by printer company standards. (They’re no Costco!)
When I’ve had to contact Epson’s support on behalf of customers, they’ve always been helpful. They seem to want to solve users’ problems as best they can.
Epson EcoTank ET-2800 Review | Bottom Line

With its cost-effective ink, reliable connectivity, and convenient features, it’s a great option for those who print occasionally or casually.
Major Wins
The biggest win for the EcoTank ET-2800 is the ink cost.

The print quality is also impressive, with a maximum resolution of 5760 dpi, which is higher than most photo printers on the market.
Reliable wireless connectivity and voice-activated printing are also major wins.
Major Drawbacks
The print speed of the EcoTank ET-2800 is a bit on the slow side, with a maximum speed of 10 pages per minute for black and just 5 ppm for color.
Additionally, the build quality is lacking, so it may not last longer than a few years.
Final Verdict – 4.3/5
Overall, the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 is a great choice for those who print occasionally or for casual use. The cost-effective ink, impressive print quality, and reliable connectivity make it a great value for the price.
The slow print speed and average durability are minor drawbacks, but they don’t outweigh the printer’s many strengths. That’s why my final rating for the Epson EcoTank ET-2800 review is 4.3 out of 5.
