Welcome to our Epson EcoTank review guide. In this guide, we’re going to go over all the Epson EcoTank printers available in 2025. We’ll also discuss what an EcoTank printer is, how it works, and if an Epson Ecotank is worth it. First, here’s our favorite Epson EcoTank printer.

Our Choice for the Best Epson EcoTank Printer of 2025:

Epson EcoTank ET-4760

Our Rating: 4.4/5
4.4/5

The Good

  • Great Lifetime Ink Savings
  • Auto Document Feeder
  • Decent Print Speed

The Bad

  • High Base Price
  • Small Screen
  • Low Paper Capacity

The Bottom Line

The Epson EcoTank ET-4760 is part of Epson’s latest line of white EcoTank printers, and it appears they’ve really found their stride.

This printer is a true all-in-one, with print, scan, copy, and fax functionality, and a 30 page auto-document-feeder. It is faster than previous EcoTank models, while saving you money all the same.

Like all supertank printers, the Epson EcoTank ET-4760 has some drawbacks. For the price, this is a very basic printer, built with cheap, plastic materials. It has some basic features, a small screen, and a small paper tray. Overall, it just has less capabilities than what you’re used to getting at this price.

However, if you want to save money on your home printing, the Epson EcoTank ET-4760 is what I’d recommend. Be sure to print every week, so the PrecisionCore print head doesn’t clog. So long as this printer lasts you at least two years, it will pay for itself in ink savings.

Background Info

What is an Epson EcoTank?

An Epson EcoTank is a supertank printer manufactured by Epson. A supertank printer is an inkjet printer which uses refillable liquid ink reservoirs instead of traditional ink cartridges.

While Epson Ecotank printers tend to be more expensive than cartridge-using equivalents, the ability to refill ink from the bottle saves you much more money in the long run.

Who is This Epson EcoTank Review Guide For?

First of all, Epson EcoTanks are not for everyone. Despite what some advertisements will tell you, these printers are typically basic printers with tanks attached. Therefore, they are not built to withstand the demands of high volume office use.

Epson EcoTanks are best for home office or small business users. Also, the Expression and Expression Premium lines are great options for frequent photo printers. If you need an economical printer for moderate use, then this Epson EcoTank review is for you.

What You Need to Know

When buying an Epson EcoTank, your primary goal is to get the most bang for your buck. You should be looking for something that has the features and capabilities you need. However, keep in mind that the primary goal of this Epson EcoTank review is for you to find a printer that saves you money.

Epson EcoTank Review Guide 2025

For this Epson EcoTank Review Guide, we’re going to break it down into categories. We’re going to go over each EcoTank line, what they are designed for, who they are designed for, and the pros and cons of each. Then, we’ll break down each printer in that line. Let’s get started.

Epson EcoTank

The Epson EcoTank line of Epson EcoTank printers is probably the most redundantly named printer series of all time. These are the Epson EcoTank printers designed for average everyday home users. They are relatively compact and fair priced.

Epson is at a weird in-between stage of their different generations of these printers. The white models are mostly newer than the black counterparts, and they have a few extra features, like voice-printing with a smart home device.

A lot of these models are very similar; some are just newer or have some additional features. So, if this starts to seem redundant, it’s because they are very similar machines.

Epson EcoTank ET-2720

Our Rating: 2.6/5
2.6/5

The Good

  • Compact
  • Simple
  • Inexpensive

The Bad

  • Slow
  • Low Paper Capacity
  • Tiny Display

The Bottom Line:

The Epson EcoTank ET-2720 is the entry level model for Epson’s white EcoTank printers. It’s small, and cheap, and that’s most of the good things you can say about it.

This printer is slow, overly simplistic, and is really just a thirty dollar printer with an ink tank attached. It’s reminiscent of the first line of EcoTank printers, most of which were returned to my store within a week.

This printer is designed for use by grandmothers printing Christmas cards. The problem with that strategy is that those customers don’t need EcoTanks. They print so infrequently that the print head will almost certainly clog up and brick the printer.

If you need a supertank printer, then keep scrolling this Epson Ecotank review guide. If you need a small, cheap printer like this one, I’d recommend looking elsewhere.

Epson EcoTank ET-2760

Our Rating: 3/5

The Good

  • Good Mobile Features
  • Small Footprint
  • Great Print Quality

The Bad

  • Slow
  • Cheap Construction
  • White Gets Dirty

The Bottom Line:

The Epson EcoTank ET-2760 is marginally better than the Epson EcoTank ET-2720. It prints a whole half a page faster than the ET-2720, and the ink is more efficient. That’s really the only differences.

The ET-2760 is slow, the white body get’s marked up and dingy looking, and it’s just cheap. The screen is a slight improvement, but again, this printer just isn’t worth the money you are paying for it. My advice is to save the extra cash and move up to the next model.

Epson EcoTank ET-3710

Our Rating: 3.8/5
3.8/5

The Good

  • Built for Average Home User
  • 2.4″ Color Display
  • Decent Speed

The Bad

  • Small Paper Tray
  • No ADF

The Bottom Line:

While there is a jump in price from the previous models, the Epson EcoTank ET-3710 also has a big jump in quality.

Because it’s built for more realistic usage, this printer has a bigger and better display, a more reasonable speed, and is an overall better printer than the previous models.

This printer still doesn’t have a huge paper tray or auto-document-feeder, but it is enough for most families. And it offers the huge savings that brought you to this Epson Ecotank review guide in the first place.

If you are looking for a supertank printer at as low of an upfront cost as possible, then the Epson EcoTank ET-3710 is a great place to start.

The Bottom Line:

Whoop! We’ve broken four stars. How fantastic.

The reason the printers on this list seem to be relatively low rated is because EcoTank printers tend to be relatively unremarkable printers.

This printer includes an ADF, which is a nice feature for a home office or small business. It is relatively fast, decently built, and, most importantly, it saves you money. Which is the whole point of this Epson EcoTank review guide.

The Good

  • Environmentally and Economically Friendly
  • Full All-In-One Functionality

The Bottom Line:

As we mentioned above, this is our choice for the overall best Epson EcoTank printer.

It’s the closest model to a true all-in-one that doesn’t forget the purpose of a supertank printer. It can print, scan, copy, and fax. It has great quality printing and scanning, and it’s built to last.

In my opinion, if you are looking for a supertank printer to replace your home printer, this is the one you want. I highly recommend giving the Epson EcoTank ET-4760 a closer look.

Epson EcoTank ET-16500

Our Rating: 3.2/5
3.2/5

The Good

  • Wide Format Capabilities
  • Built for Office Use
  • Better Print Speed

The Bad

  • Very Expensive
  • Low Quality Prints
  • QA Issues

Epson ET-16500 EcoTank Wireless Wide format Color All-in-One Supertank Printer, Scanner, Fax & Ethernet

The Bottom Line:

Ok, on paper, this printer is awesome. It’s large, built for high-volume office use, and fast. It even has the ability to print wide format. It’s a true all-in-one, and it’s built to perform.

However, none of that matters, because this printer always breaks. It has low quality prints, jams easily, and just breaks down. I’ve only sold a few of these, but they’ve all been returned. I don’t know what happened in Epson’s QA department, but there was a breakdown somewhere.

If this printer works as intended, then it’s a great option. Buyer beware.

Epson Expression

The Epson Expression series is a line of basic supertank photo printers. These are basic and cheaply built, specifically with the purpose of delivering photo prints as cheap as possible.

Ultimately, these printers make good on the biggest two promises. They save you money on ink, and they have high quality printing and scanning. There’s not much else going on here.

Epson Expression ET-2700

Our Rating: 2.6/5
2.6/5

The Good

  • High Quality Prints
  • High Quality Scanning

The Bad

  • No Display
  • Cheap, Cheap, Cheap

The Bottom Line:

The Epson Expression ET-2700 is a typical example of what you can expect from the Epson Expression line. It prints good photos for cheap. That’s about it.

This printer is slow. It has no display, which makes it confusing to use. It just feels cheaply built when you are using it. It only has the most basic features, and that makes it disappointing.

If you need a cheap supertank photo printer, I’d recommend skipping ahead to the ET-3700.

Epson Expression ET-2750

Our Rating: 3.4/5

The Good

  • Auto-Duplex Printing

  • Small Display
  • Difficult Setup

The Bottom Line:

While this printer is marginally better than the Epson EcoTank ET-2700, it’s not by much. But, you do get a display, which is nice.

The Epson EcoTank ET-2750 has a few more features than the ET-2700, but it has a lot of the same models. It’s slow, the display is small and confusing, and it just feels like a cheap plastic box.

Will it print great photos? Yes. Does it save you money? Also yes. But I don’t think that’s enough. I’d recommend checking out the next model.

Epson Expression ET-3700

Our Rating: 3.9/5
3.9/5

The Good

  • Acceptable Speed
  • Larger Color Display
  • Small Footprint

The Bad

  • Print Head Clogs Easily
  • Iffy WIFI
  • Hard to Replace Inkpad

Epson Expression ET-3700 EcoTank Wireless Color All-in-One Supertank Printer with Scanner, Copier and Ethernet

Check Out the Epson Expression ET-3700 on Amazon

The Bottom Line:

In my opinion, the Epson Expression ET-3700 is the only Expression series printer on this Epson EcoTank review guide worth seriously considering. It’s miles ahead of the other two printers previously discussed.

This printer is relatively fast, has a better display, and keeps the same great print quality. It saves you money, delivers the quality, and doesn’t completely sacrifice mechanical reliability.

It has the same problems as most Epson Ecotank printers, like the consumable ink pad, which catches excess ink, and that pesky PrecisionCore printhead that clogs so easily.

Ultimately, I think you’re much better off going for one of the Expression Premium printer, but I understand price is a concern there. If you can’t spend the extra cash, this is the only Expression series printer I recommend in this Epson EcoTank review guide.

Epson Expression Premium

Even though there’s only a couple entries in this section of our Epson EcoTank review guide, this is what I’m most excited for. In my opinion, the Expression Premium series is where the EcoTank system is utilized the best.

These are professional quality supertank photo printers, at surprisingly low prices compared to other professional art printers. These are some of the best printers for art prints currently on the market.

Epson Expression Premium ET‑7700

Our Rating: 4.2/5
4.2/5

The Good

  • Super High Quality Photos
  • Cheap Photo Prints
  • Large Color Display

The Bad

  • Slow Print Speed
  • Low Paper Storage
  • High MSRP

Check Out the Epson Expression Premium ET‑7700

The Bottom Line:

The Epson Expression Premium ET-7700 is a great setup for printing a lot of photos. For hobbyists or professionals, this printer will save you money without sacrificing quaility.

While the 100-sheet paper tray and slow printing speed leave something to be desired, this machine cranks out fantastic quality photos at a price that is basically unbeatable.

If you are printing photos on a regular basis, the Epson Expression Premium ET-7700 is a great investment that will pay dividends. Especially if you are a professional, you will save on your overhead and and make money on print sales.

Check Out the Epson Expression Premium ET‑7750

The Bottom Line:

The Epson Expression Premium ET-7750 is simply one of the best printers for art prints there is. It’s got an amazing color range, high resolution prints and scans, and just prints beautiful photos.

This printer is built for a purpose, and it’s great at that purpose. It’s not great at everyday home use, and it’s not supposed to be. It’s supposed to be a wide-format, high-end photo printing machine.

This is the cheapest way to print wide format photos that I’ve ever seen. In my opinion, it’s the best utilization of the Epson EcoTank system there is, and I highly recommend it.

Epson Workforce

The Epson Workforce series is meant to be a competitor to HP’s OfficeJet Pro series. These are inkjet printers designed for business and home office use. They’re made for speed, printing lots of documents, and ink efficiency.

The EcoTank versions of these printers fall a little flat. They have small paper trays, mediocre speed, and aren’t built for volume. If they can’t realistically be used for business, then what’s the point?

Epson Workforce ET-3750

Our Rating: 3.8/5
3.8/5

The Good

  • Built for Everyday Printing
  • Color Display
  • Simple But Versatile

The Bad

The Bottom Line:

The Epson Workforce ET-3750 is a fine printer for home office or small business purposes. It’s got decent printing speed, a good display, and it’s built well. It will hold up to most normal everyday use.

This printer won’t blow your socks off, but it will serve your purposes and save you money.

  • Not Very User Friendly

Check Out the Epson Workforce ET-4750 on Amazon

The Bottom Line:

The Epson Workforce ET-4750 is the best printer of the Workforce EcoTank printers. It’s really comparable to a basic all-in-one inkjet printer.

This printer can sometimes have issues with graphic quality and paper jamming. That’s kind of to be expected with machines of this quality.

This printer is one of the best midpoints between money saving and machine quality in this Epson EcoTank review guide. If you are set on getting an Epson EcoTank for a small business or home office, the Epson Workforce ET-4750 is one to look at.

Epson Workforce Pro

The Epson Workforce Pro series is our final series in our Epson EcoTank review guide. These printers are designed for the heaviest office use, and are meant to provide speed and efficiency.

Unfortunately, there is currently only one Epson Workforce Pro EcoTank printer, and it’s a little less than spectacular. Let’s just get into it.

Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700

Our Rating: 2/5
2/5

The Good

  • Fastest EcoTank Available
  • Built for Office Use
  • Full All-in-One

The Bad

  • Uses Ink Bags
  • Mediocre Print Quality
  • Expensive

Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700 EcoTank Wireless Color All-in-One Supertank Printer with Scanner, Copier, Fax and Ethernet

Check Out the Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700 on Amazon

The Bottom Line:

At first glance, the Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700 is the Epson Ecotank we’ve all been waiting for. It’s large and in charge, it’s built for heavy duty office use, and it seems to offer all our prayers. But it’s all an illusion!

The Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700 isn’t a real EcoTank, at least, not in my mind. Sure, it doesn’t take ink cartridges, but it does take ink bags, which are the same thing. It’s so stupid it makes me want to scream.

Please, don’t buy the Epson Workforce Pro ET-8700, and don’t let it taint your opinion of the other great EcoTank printers.

Epson EcoTank Review Guide Verdict

The Epson EcoTank line of supertank printers are great for anyone looking to save money on their ink costs; so long as you have realistic expectations.

These printers are designed with the express purpose of saving the users money. They won’t last for ten years, and they won’t be the most impressive printer in any category.

With that being said, there are great EcoTank options for most users. If you are a casual user, a home user, photo printer, or small business, then this Epson EcoTank review guide had a great option for you.
