What Is The HP OfficeJet Pro Printer Series?
The HP OfficeJet Pro series is designed for home office and small business users. It will work best for users with consistent printing needs, even a few sheets per week. This isn’t for users who go months between printing projects.
This HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 review is to let home office users and small business owners know if this is the right all-in-one printer for their needs.
What You Need To Look For When Choosing An All-In-One Inkjet Printer
When you are buying a new all-in-one
HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 Review 2025
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is the latest iteration of HP’s highly popular OfficeJet Pro series of all-in-one inkjet printers. These printers are known for being the best inkjet printers for home offices and small businesses.
The previous generation of this printer, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, was one of the most universally popular printers I’ve seen. Personally, I sold over a thousand of those printers during the few years it was in production. It was a great machine, and this is the replacement. Our HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 review is going to answer whether this is an improvement over the previous model, or just a different number.
The Good
High-speed printing
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 has the same great speed of the previous generation. With up to 22 pages per minute of black, and 18 of color, this printer will churn out full-length reports faster than some laser printers.
Pro-Tip: If you need something even faster, print on draft quality. This will get you your prints as fast as possible and is good enough quality for personal documents.
self-healing wifi
A very common problem with modern printers is with connectivity issues. In the modern era, everything is expected to be wireless. Especially with the rise of mobile printing, nobody wants to search for a cable to use their printer.
This is a huge pain point for many printer customers, because printers are notorious for dropping WIFI connection. Peruse the reviews of any all-in-one
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 solves this issue. With their new self-healing WIFI feature, HP has taken a step toward eliminating connectivity issues for printers. If this printer drops its WIFI connection, it instantly begins trying to correct itself. It will scan until it finds your WIFI network again, and reconnect, all before you know it disconnected at all. That’s a great feature.
Efficient ink cartridges
With a new printer series comes a new ink lineup. The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 takes HP’s 962 ink cartridge series. This series can yield up to 2,000 pages of black and 1,600 of color with the XL cartridges. That’s as many as a lot of laser printer cartridges, but lower priced. Keeping ink costs low is essential for any home office or small business.
Improved scanning
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 has a double-pass two-sided auto document feeder. This means you can scan up to 35 pages of two sided documents quickly and efficiently with one button click.
If you need even faster duplex scanning, the OfficeJet Pro 9025 offers single-pass duplex scanning. You can find our full review on the OfficeJet Pro 9025 here.
Another great feature of the scanner on this printer is the slide-off glass. The flatbed glass is laid flush to the edge of the scanner, so you can quickly move documents in and out. No more digging your fingernails into the page corner trying to pick it up.
space-saver
The biggest complaint I heard about the HP OfficeJet Pro 8700 series was they were way too big. That’s something HP has worked to fix on the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015. They’ve reduced the size of this printer by 37% over the previous model. That’s extra space saved on your desk or workspace.
HP Instant Ink eligible
If you want to save even more on your ink, and you print less than 300 pages per month, HP Instant Ink is a great option for you. It is a monthly subscription, so it offsets your print costs. Also, at ten dollars per month, it will save you some money on your ink costs.

HP Smart App with Smart Tasks
The HP Smart App makes it easy to print, scan, and manage your printer from your smartphone. This printer also has HP Smart Tasks, which allow you to save and automate processes you do often.
If you scan documents at certain settings a few times per week, you can save the preset. HP Smart Tasks can also help you file your digital documents, so they are easier to manage.
The Bad
Small Display
The touch screen on this printer is in full color, which is nice. However, at less than three inches across, it is on the small side. For users who have trouble with touch screen dexterity or reading small text, this may be an issue.
Low paper storage
Similar to the HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 has only one paper tray. This means it can only hold 250 sheets of paper, and only one type of paper at a time. In my opinion, the best office printers should hold a full ream of paper. Also, a dedicated paper tray for photo paper would have been a nice bonus.
software issues
The biggest complaint people have about the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is that there are software issues. The older generation had these as well, and they are sure to be solved with future firmware updates. It’s very common for printers to have software problems within the first few months of release.
If your printer won’t print, be sure to go through the troubleshooting steps and contact support before anything else. Try to update the firmware if you can. Worst-case scenario, if it is bricked within the return or warranty periods, you should be able to get a replacement easily.
OfficeJet Pro 9015 Review 2025 | The Bottom line
The HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 improves over the previous model in some areas, however very slightly. If you still have a working HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, there is no reason to run out right away and upgrade. However, if you are looking for the best all-in-one printer for your home office or small business, the HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is definitely a contender.
